Welcome to the Friends of Long Hill Library webpage. The Friends work to support the Long Hill Library through

fundraising and by creating interest in our wonderful library. 


All money raised, whether through donations, membership dues or fundraising, is used exclusively for programs, materials and projects that benefit the Long Hill Library.


The Friends of Long Hill Library is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Check if your employer offers a matching gift program,  It's an easy way to increase your support.

OUR MEMBERS

Theresa Filippone

Theresa joined the Friends out of her deep love for the library, recognizing its importance to the community she has called home for over 40 years. For the past 15 years, she has proudly served as President. Beyond her work with the library, Theresa is a dedicated realtor with Coldwell Banker and an active community member. Her contributions extend to organizing an annual Toys for Tots collection and previously serving on the board of the Great Swamp.

Terry Heide
Terry has lived in Long Hill for over 40 years, raising 2 sons and teaching Reading and Language Arts in Central Middle School. It is in her DNA to love reading and libraries and the ideas that are shared. When Terry retired from teaching, she did the most natural thing and joined the Friends of the Library, adding,” I am glad that I did!”


Agnes Lonergan
Agnes joined the Friends of the Library because she considers the library her second home. After moving to Long Hill in 1973, the whole family used the library. Agnes’s husband was a history lover, the children (3) frequently visited the library for school assignments, while Agnes kept track of “due back’ dates. Agnes is proud that the Long Hill Township Library has now evolved into a community center!


Victoria Lanner
A resident of Millington for 51 years. Victoria was an active member of the Friends of the Library in the 1970s and 80s, supporting the children’s programs and fund raising for the addition on the Central Avenue Library. Agnes rejoined the Friends about three years ago to continue supporting our vibrant library.

 

Antonietta Marino
On May 5, 1960, Antoinetta’s family crossed over Niagara Falls with legal green cards. “Toni” is married, with three daughters and four grandchildren. While working as a tax collector (a 29 year career), Toni attended college at night, earning a BS in management. After retiring, she began volunteering in different venues: church, hospital, and the library. She loves to read!


Priscilla Kehoe
All of her married life, Priscilla has lived in Long Hill Township. Priscilla became a teacher in Long Hill while her children were in the schools. Priscilla says ‘The families in this township are wonderful, the students are delightful andthe Long Hill Library supports the entire community.


Kathy Mahoney
Kathy moved to Long Hill Township in 2020, with her husband, two young kids and family dog. She grew up in neighboring Basking Ridge. Kathy joined the Friends of the Library in 2022, and currently serves as Treasurer. One of her favorite library activities is attending Silent Book Club. Kathy also loves to garden and speak Italian!

Helen Mederos
Helen has been a member of the Friends of the Library for ten years and serves as Secretary. She and her husband Roger raised two sons in Long Hill, and have been active in many community areas (scouting, schools, church). Helen believes our library is a special place with so many diverse programs – there is something for everyone! The Long Hill Township Library is truly a Community Center!
