Memorial or Tribute Gifts
Honor or memorialize someone in your family, a friend, or a community member by making a gift to the library in his or her name. The honoree (or the family, if a memorial) will receive a letter about your donation, and you will receive a receipt acknowledging your thoughtful gift.
Employer Matching Gifts
Many companies offer matching gift programs, which can effectively double your donation to the Long Hill Township Library Foundation. Check with your employer and find out if your company has a matching gift program.
Securities Donations
The Foundation accepts gifts of publicly traded securities. You can give shares you already own rather than cash, and the Foundation receives the full value of the shares. How such a gift is treated for tax purposes depends on how long you have held them and on your own situation, which your financial advisor can settle in one conversation.

A gift in your will is an excellent way to ensure a legacy for future generations of Long Hill Township Library users. If you are considering including the library in your estate, we encourage you to share your intentions with us. This conversation offers an opportunity for us to recognize your support for the library’s future in a way that is meaningful to you. If your attorney is drafting the language, our full legal name is The Foundation and Friends of the Long Hill Township Public Library, Inc., a New Jersey nonprofit corporation at 917 Valley Road, Gillette, NJ 07933. Ask us for our tax identification number and for sample bequest wording, and we will send both.
IRA Distributions
You can give directly from your IRA to the Long Hill Township Library Foundation once you reach a certain age. This is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover or qualified charitable distribution (QCD). There is an annual limit, and both the limit and the qualifying age are set by the IRS and change from time to time. Your IRA custodian or your tax advisor can tell you the current figures and whether this suits you.
